The idea for this fluffy piece of art came from winter. Winter you ask? Yes, winter! Because while it never really gets cold here in Australia, in winter we still kind of need some sleeve action in the mornings or evenings, and that was very badly interfering with my wearing my favourite pair of dungarees! I needed something that covers my arms enough so I don’t get cold, but still lets me wear my wardrobe staple. And please don't even get me started about that certain time in a woman's life where you get the dreaded hot flushes!!!! And so the Sleeve Me Alone was born.

I hope you love this sleevey wonder just as much as I do, and please tag me in your makes on Instagram or Facebook and use the #SleeveMeAlone to be featured

ABOUT US

Anna is the Indie Dyer and Designer behind Yarnia powered by Stitchcraft & Wizardry, which opened its wardrobe doors in 2019. She embraces her nerdiness and love of colour to the fullest, believing that every day you haven't laughed is a wasted one, you can never have too much colour in your life, and everything in life is better with glitter! Anything yarn is her passion, which she shares with her customers as well as her two daughters (6 & 10) who are both learning to knit and regularly trying their hand at dyeing yarn.

Every SINGLE time I've ordered from Stitchcraft & Wizardry Anna has been SO helpful! She has dyed up custom mini skeins for me (which hardly ANYBODY will do), she has taken a bunch of photos & sent them through to me so I could see colour combos & she takes so much time to give me advice & help plan my next project! Could not recommend highly enough!

Not just a new yarn supplier but a new friend-- love the fabulous service, fun times on Instagram and of course the exquisite yarn! The yarn is delightful to use and the colourways are just stunning--thank you!!

  • LEO

"The yarn is always so soft and you are so sweet and accommodating. This is my third purchase and I've never been happier with buying from a business. I'm as happy as can be in every way possible. Thank you so much for dyeing such beautiful yarn."

  • TRACEY

  • Kelly

Fantastic customer service, extensive range as well as unique items and just a joyful shopping experience...every single time!

I really LOVE the style and essence of what Anna and Mike do.

They also have a podcast, so I feel like I actually know them even though I live to far away to visit their store.

    Cannot recommend highly enough!

Yarnia is amazing! They regularly have a range of workshops, one on one private craft lessons, they 3D print and laser cut a multitude of yarn related tools and accessories plus also make wood turned yarn related articles. The range of yarns and accessories is wonderful and you can get things here that aren't available at other local yarn shops. This shop (and their online shop) is so well worth visiting. Perfect service with a smile every time. You need to visit Yarnia ❤

  • Kymberli

Definitely buying all my yarn and embroidery needs from here from now on!

Such a beautiful atmosphere in such a quaint little yarn shop tucked away..I can see why they call it Yarnia.. looks small from the outside but once you go through the door it's packed full of so many different yarns and threads.. always a delight to walk into a happy place with a good vibe and friendly staff that are so helpful and informative!

The hand dyed yarns are to die for! So many beautiful colours and always well stocked.. the vibrant harmony and depths of tones within the skein is just magical.. you can't buy yarn like this at Spotlight.. nothing even remotely comes close!

Not only will you be welcomed with a warm smile, but you will also receive advice and recommendations on all the yarn and notions in this wonderful shop, if you need help with a pattern or advice on what yarn to substitute with they are there to help. Anna also dyes her own beautiful whimsically themed yarns, along with stocking some favorite commercial yarns such as Scheepjes, Fiddlesticks and Lion Brand. Oh and there is even a shop Elf!

  • Ilsa

Best yarn shop in Perth! The Stitchcraft family are the most helpful and friendly yarny people I've ever met and could happily spend hours on end chatting, knitting and perusing the shelves of Yarnia. Something for everyone and every budget from hand dyed indie dyed yarn to budget friendly acrylic yarns, mohair, cotton, macrame and so much more! They even have craft groups every Wednesday and Friday. I love it here!!

  • Bri

The best customer service! I bought some yarn online, and when I discussed the project with Anna later that day, we realised it was not appropriate for my project. Anna quickly was able to suggest better options, refunded my initial order and guide me through placing a new one - all on her day off! There's nothing like shopping from small businesses, and shopping from Yarnia's wide range is a good idea, always.

  • Helen

I really enjoyed my yarn dyeing workshop with Anna. She is very knowledgeable and her enthusiasm for hand dyed yarn is infectious. Anna's shop is full of wonderful yarns that are inspiring and well worth travelling for.

  • Min

One of the best yarn shops in Australia! As a mega geek, I love all the fandom inspired hand dyed yarns available and there's plenty of really unique, colourful yarns. I've been really enjoying the podcasts and all the content on instagram and facebook. You can bet your Dobby socks a visit to Yarnia will have your mischief managed!

  • Keri-An

So many cute things in this store - it's on the other side of the country from me - so I've never physically been in, but my orders are always quick. I had literally the tiniest issue with one of them - Anna was the absolute best to resolve that and go above and beyond.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend shopping with these guys where ever you are - and if you're nearby the store, it'd be a tragedy not to head in.

  • Anna

This is definitely my first stop when going to WA. Have purchased multiple times and have always been extremely happy... from Yarnia's friendly service to the quality products not to mentioned the glorious hand dyed yarns and so much more, there is something for every everyone...

  • Leanne

Cannot recommend them highly enough in words- the store is a must see!

Anna is amazing!! I went to one of her workshops and had the best time she is super knowledgeable and a fun person to learn from. I learned a lot about different dying processes and then got the chance to hand dye 2 skeins for myself to take home and turn into something amazing to remember the day by. I’ll definitely be attending again in the future.

  • Karen

Recently completed Anna’s yarn dyeing workshop. It was such fun and a perfect balance between the technical and creative aspect of the dyeing process. Thrilled with the dyed yarn I got to take home. Would love to do it again soon. Thank you Anna.

  • Stephanie

I have attended 2 of Anna's yarn dyeing workshops.

They are so much fun, and I would highly recommend them.

Different techniques are explained, and so many colours to choose from, leaving us all with such different, beautiful skeins to take home.

A really fun morning, and a chance to create a couple of unique colourways for yourself

  • Beatrice

The yarn dying workshop with Anna was so much fun. Her 'special bus' is well equipped and Anna has a wealth of knowledge and a sparkling personality.

You leave after a few hours with 2 beautiful skeins of yarn that you dyed.

  • Tess

The yarn dying workshops with Anna may be the most fun workshop I’ve ever taken. Be warned! They are very addictive! I couldn’t stop at one.
